We met in 2009 at a college hockey game in Houghton in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where we were also engaged (2011) and married (2013). We both currently reside in the Twin Cities, where we have lived for 10 plus years.

We have spent our 11 years of marriage crisscrossing the US and the world. We have been to Canada, Iceland, France, Sweden and Norway. We stay active in the community with David being elected in 2020 to our city council. We both love exercising, as Bethlyn is an avid broomball player, and David has run trail races, and plays hockey.

Bethlyn has a tremendous passion for people. She cares so much about her family, friends and everyone she meets. This is what I love about her, this passion for people is infectious and makes our time together so much fun. She treats others as they want to be treated. She’s also the sharpest person I’ve met as her attention to detail is extraordinary. Nothing gets past her this will be a great asset as a mother. She will be an attentive and dedicated mother. Her energy is infectious and makes our time together joyful and fun. I never get over being loved by her every day. All of these attributes will make her an excellent mother.

David has such a passion for life. He is genuinely one of the happiest people I know and absolutely loves to laugh. David has the best laugh – which is one of the reasons I fell for him so soon – and such a great smile! Just being around him fills my heart and makes me so happy. He is my best friend and I couldn’t do life without him. David and I have so much fun together. One of my favorite things about him is how caring and selfless he is. He is a special education teacher and a city councilman–he cares a great deal about everyone. He has such great patience with students and a true passion for teaching and helping them become better people. I am grateful every single day to be loved by him. I know David will make an incredible dad.
